March 2015 - Report

Today's venue was changed from Flower Town to Woody Town Community Center.  The first for our group in this venue.  Kelly and I hitched a ride with Tsujimoto-san.  We arrived there a good 10 minutes early.  We got the keys from the receptionist and went up to the Playroom.  Then everyone else started coming, first Kawasaka-san, then Ishimaru-san and Nishimura-san, Tsujii-san.  Miyawaki-san came a little later since she went to Flower Town first.  I guess my information dissemination technique is a little lacking.  I truly apologize.
We started the session with a song, "If you're happy", everyone tried their best to sing the song.  The problem was that the beat was too fast so it was difficult for the children to sing, but they were able to do the gestures/actions without any problem whatsoever which made my heart swell!
I introduced colors after the song, starting with the primary colors red, blue, yellow using the kitchen paper rolls wrapped in colored papers.  I also introduced the concept of secondary colors(combining two primary colors).  Then we played the game "Touch the color" which Rena-chan won.  Everyone participated well even Ryuuhei-kun(he wanted to steal his mother's role and hold the paper rolls himself :P).  Next we played "Get the color" wherein moms stuck small pieces of colored papers to their legs and lower body so the children can get the required color when I tell them to.  Anri-chan won this game.  She gathered a total of 14 pieces of colored paper(talk about fast hands!).
And last but not least we sang the song "The Wheels on the Bus".  Some of the children opted to watch the computer monitor though instead of doing the actions for the song. :P  The session was a great success!  I thank everyone who came, cooperated and participated in all the activities.  I also thank everyone for helping me out with the club registration problems and other matters.  More power to the wonderful people who are joining the Sanda English Club and see you next time! :)
